SCOTCH PLAINS – The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League Thrift Shop, located at 1741 East Second Street in Scotch Plains, will begin its annual Toy and Doll Sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 8. The sale will continue through Wednesday, November 14. Items featured in this year’s sale will include Raggedy Ann and Andy, Bratz Kids, and Hanna Montana dolls. There will be Barbies and Cabbage Patch kids plus other lovingly-used dolls in many sizes from 18-inches to baby dolls. Shoppers will also find doll accessories including clothes, a crib, and wardrobe pieces for their favorite Build-a-Bear. A few collector dolls will be available and a newly “rehabilitated” dollhouse will be ready and waiting for a new owner.
     Shop volunteers have collected merchandise for the Toy and Doll Sale throughout the year, so there will be a good variety of name-brand toys, games, books, puzzles, and Lego items for the children of all ages on your shopping list. The staff recommends multiple visits to the sale as merchandise will be replenished daily.

     During the sale, shoppers will also find the Thrift Shop decked out for the upcoming holidays with a huge array of seasonal decorations, wreaths, ornaments, china and glassware, hostess ware, linens, plus wrappings and trappings available in the bric-a-brac department. All this is in addition to the usual selection of modestly priced clothing and accessories for the whole family.

     The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that has served the community since 1974 through the operation of its Thrift Shop in Scotch Plains. Since its founding, the League has donated well over $1 million to area service organizations and charitable causes.
