Overlook Medical Center Thanks Cranford First Aid Squad
Recently your crew was involved with transporting a patient to Overlook Medical Center that appeared to have suffered a stroke. A patient with the initials M.D. was brought in by your squad on March 27, 2012.
As you know, every second counts when dealing with stroke patients. I would like to personally thank those involved in getting the patient to our Stroke Center in such a timely manner. Unfortunately, we do not have a record of the names of those crew members. I am seeking your assistance in identifying the crew involved so that you can pass along my sincere thanks as well as a token of our gratitude.
Please share with your crew that the excellent work they do — preparing the patient for transport, observing for signs and symptoms of stroke, conducting the physical examination and using the Cincinnati Pre-Hospital Stroke Scale, gathering pertinent information, and rapidly transporting the patient to our Stroke Center --- is essential for early intervention.
No matter what type of stroke, research shows that patients have better outcomes when treated at a Stroke Center. Your crew's effort and hard work contribute significantly toward reducing the damage from stroke and improving the patients overall outcome.
The enclosed pins are a token of our gratitude and appreciation for their vital role in "A Strike Against Stroke." Please pass them along to the crew involved with this patient.
