Back to School Sales – Time to Save Money

Did you wait until now to purchase school supplies? Here is a list of sales on back-to-school staples that may help save time and money.

The days maybe longer during the summer, but some tasks may still be lingering on that pesky to-do list. If one of those remaining jobs is to purchase school supplies, here are some sales that may help complete the supply list and save some money, too.

Know of any great back to school sales?  Please feel free to add them to the comments below.

  • Staples has their extreme deal sale and offers one subject notebooks for one cent. They also offer $20 off a Texas Instruments® TI-84 Plus  calculator, which is the most commonly used calculator in high school.
  • Kohl’s offers free shipping on orders over $50 (will arrive in time for school), 15 percent discount for on-line orders and $10 in Kohl’s cash. This is a great incentive to make your purchase on-line and save the time of going to the store.
  • Office Depot has designed a website that is user-friendly and will allow you to shop by your child’s grade. They offer a personal shopper to fulfill your school supply list. Email your school list to (schoolsupplies@officedpot.com) and they will complete the list and send you an email for your review with the amount of purchase. Approval is needed before the final purchase, which allows you time to make revisions or cancel the order.

If possible, please purchase an extra notebook or box of pencils for the School Supply Drive at St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Summit. Christ Child Society of Summit is partnering with Bridges Outreach to collect and distribute next year’s school supplies for the approximately 500 eligible children in the Summit Public School System. Check with your local public school or local house of worship to see if they are they having a school supply drive and accepting donations.
