Travelers heading northbound on the Garden State Parkway through Cranford may experience some delays in the area of mile marker 138 due to a minor car fire.
The blaze was reported at about 2:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the busy highway. According to a dispatcher at Troop E of the New Jersey State Police Bloomfield barracks, the minor car fire is resulting in the closure of at least part of the roadway, as well as traffic delays heading through that area.
Emergency crews are on the scene, working to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.

It's unfortunate, especially for the people stuck in traffic behind it. There was a separate incident - an MVA - just north of the Union tolls, I believe, but I think it was on the southbound side.

What about covering the bad decision of the town not to pick up downed trees on taxpayers property that fell in their yards. This is a kick to the face of town taxpayers after storm Sandy.
