Here's a flashback from a former Cranford resident who has taken to Youtube to create the Lerner Home Movie Vault.

Michael Lerner was a Cranford High School graduate who went on to Boston University to study film. He has a treasure trove of digitized Super 8 home movies showing his neighborhood on Walnut Avenue.

You can see more home movies and Cranford High School videos by visiting Lerner's Youtube page.

The following is a description of his winter video:

Another classic from the early 1970s - "The Last Winter" - an epic Super 8mm movie production about the transition between fall and winter in Cranford, New Jersey, and how the children in one neighborhood would play and sled in their snow-filled backyards.

Featuring an all-star Walnut Avenue cast, including David Kupfer, Michael Lerner, Neal Lerner, and Doug Chieff.

Filmed on location in Cranford, New Jersey, USA, on the Rahway River.
