At this time of Thanksgiving, I would like to express my sincere wishes to you and your families for a wonderful holiday filled with loved-ones, close friends, delicious food and wonderful memories as we continue to recover from the “left-overs” of Hurricane Irene.
The re-building of Brookside Place School continues to progress. The replacement of the electrical service took slightly longer due to the acquisition of all required parts and equipment. The electric has been run from the outside utility pole into the basement of the building. Wires are being connected to the new panel boxes, and PSE&G will be out shortly to complete the electric service final hook-up. We now, more accurately, anticipate that electric will be restored to the building by mid-December.
All of the sheetrock has been installed on the interior classroom walls where it had been removed and the second coat of spackle has been spread and sanded. Mr. Klimko and the teachers have selected the paint colors and the painters are due to begin their work next week.
The ceiling tiles are being delivered as well and ceiling tile installation is also scheduled to begin next week. New lighting fixtures and bulbs are already on-site ready for installation once the ceiling work has been completed.
Carpentry work is continuing and will include all new custom benches for the All-Purpose Room and in the outer kindergarten coat room area. We have also received word that DiFabio Construction will be donating a blue and gold cougar paw logo to the center of the new All Purpose Room floor.
With this wonderful news, enjoy your long holiday weekend knowing that progress is steady and we anticipate a return to a new and better Brookside Place School this school year.
