PD: Cranford Girl Stole $5K From Quick Chek Register
A Retford Avenue resident allegedly stole the funds while working at the store.

A Cranford girl who worked at a Clark Quick Chek was charged with stealing $5,389 from a register, according to a police report.
Coleen Smith, 19, of Cranford allegedly stole the money while working as a cashier at the store last year, between Oct. 23 and Nov. 26, say police.
Smith, a Retford Avenue resident, was reported to police by store personnel. She worked at the store on Westfield Avenue where Quick Chek manager Tracy Alexander and loss prevention representative John Brower reported the alleged theft to police on Nov. 28.
Det. Kevin Shackelton of the Clark Police Department arrested Smith and she was later released from custody pending a court date. She was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 7.
This arrest information was provided by the Clark Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

What you have just done is illustrate EXACTLY what is wrong with society today! A lack of personal accountability. Whether its politicians and their spending, banks and their recklessness, School administration shafting teachers, etc etc. It doesn't matter. Somehow everything is somebody else's fault these days.

This has to be one of the most powerful passages in Scripture. (See The Kite Runner, if you want to understand the brutality of primitive culture and judgment.)
It's true, this young girl stole the money. But why? What are the circumstances of her life? What motivated her? Aren't these factors important to consider before passing judgment? I would wager that there have been plenty of bad influences in her life and not enough good ones. Maybe she was convinced that she wasn't receiving her "fair share". (Who has been pounding that destructive message into her head?)

Oh, if she is found guilty, she should be punished according to the law, but I was just pointing out that, as a dopey 19 year old, she probably hasn't developed a strong sense moral integrity. So, how can we judge her severely, especially when our dear president constantly drives home his class warfare message that some are not paying their fair share, and she, by implication, isn't getting her fair share. So, maybe she just took matters into her own hands. It's a pathetic possibility.
If you don't think Jesus has anything to teach us about judgment, that's your prerogative.

As a young women I am shocked and appalled that someone so near in age to me could do something this horrid. She has no one to blame but herself. Having a bad home life or bad friends can influence someone to do something this awful but not force them to do such things. For goodness sakes she lives in Cranford how horrid could her life truly be. Monk when it comes to criminal acts its statistically proven you do not start out by stealing 5K so what else has she been doing that she feels should could get away with such an act. And knowing of this girl and the people she associates with a lot. It seems as though she has no moral boundaries.
This does not bode well for my generation and whats to come in the future.

Right. My point of view is that a young person with "no moral boundaries" is either someone one who had extremely poor guidance or who is a psychopath. I tend to believe it is mostly the former. And maybe her family is completely in the dark with regard to what online cesspool environment she may have swam in.
