A local youth was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.
Cranford police arrested a local teenager for being drunk behind the wheel of a car last weekend. The arrest was made by officer Thomas Stiansen who initially saw a vehicle stuck in the mud near Crane Parkway and Hillside Avenue around 10p.m. on Saturday.
The 16-year-old resident was also charged with careless driving and driving without a license, according to a police report.
The youth was taken to police headquarters to be processed and was released to a parent, pending an appearance in municipal court.
