Police Arrest Suspected Trespassers, Underage Drinkers

Cranford Police reported five arrests this week, including four individuals charging with underage alcohol consumption and trespassing, and one charged with possessing marijuana.
Tuesday, Aug. 24
Cranford Police arrested four people around 9 p.m. who allegedly trespassed on Lehigh Valley Railroad property by the dead end of Dermody Street. Police originally dispatched after hearing a report of a suspicious group entering the wooded area.
The individuals also were charged with possessing and consuming alcohol while underage, according to Lieutenant Robert Colaneri of the Cranford Police Department.
All four were charged and then released: Yusue Esendemir, 20, of Cranford, Derek Rich, 20, of Cranford, Kristin Richter, 19, of Clark and Alexandra Aspe, 20, of Clark.
Monday, Aug. 23
Originally stopped in his vehicle for failing to signal when turning, Marlon Anderson, 39, was arrested around 11 p.m. for suspected of possession of marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia, on Centennial Avenue near Cayuga Road by Officer Robert Jordan of the Cranford Police. Anderson, a resident of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, was also issued summonses for driving with a suspended license and failing to signal. He also had an outstanding traffic warrant issued in Springfield, according to Colaneri.
