Police Arrest Suspected Shell Station Burglar

Ryan Muglia is being held at Union County Jail.

Cranford Police arrested Elizabeth resident Arthur Muglia, 48, yesterday around 2 p.m., a suspected burglar of the Shell Station on North Avenue East. Police suspect he took $200 from the cash register in the office in addition to shattering a window, according to Detective Sgt. Gerard Quinn of the Cranford Police.

At around midnight on Sunday, Ptl. Brian Wagner of the Cranford Police detected the incident, while Detective Ryan Greco responded and processed the scene. The investigators named Muglia the suspect after reviewing video footage and other evidence.

Charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, Muglia was transferred to the Union County Jail, his bail set at $20,000. His superior court date is scheduled for Aug. 27, according to Quinn.
