Union County Likes to Brunch

You said it in our latest Readers' Choice poll: Favorite brunch spots abound in Union County!

If you were at a loss as to where to take mom for Mother's Day, fear no more!

Patch's latest Readers' Choice poll has identified many top spots around the county to celebrate with mom in style.

In Springfield, Scotty’s won hands down with a brunch menu that does not lack for variety — offering omelets, stuffed Frech toast, chicken and waffles, steak and eggs and more. This Mothers Day, the offerings expand to epic proportions.

Scotty's Mother’s Day Buffet is also special because they're keeping their rock-bottom price of $19.95.

In Summit, the winner was The Office Beer Bar and Grill which will offer an unlimited brunch buffet this Mother's Day.

"You can't beat our Belgian waffles," said manager Scott Van Guilder. You can step up to the buffet next Sunday to partake in the omelette bar or the dessert station which will please the heart of any mom, among many other offerings.

Dillon's Publick House took the prize in Mountainside, while Delicious Heights and Station House Cafe tied in Berkeley Heights. Prestige Diner ran away with the contest in New Providence.

Turning Point came out on top in Westfield. The 4,000-square foot Central Avenue eatery, opened in 2011, offers breakfast and lunch and boasts two fireplaces as well as a laptop lounge with free Wifi.

"Mother's Day is a special day for us at the Turning Point," founder Kirk Ruoff said. "As a special thank you to all the moms, we will be giving away a beautiful logo coffee mug filled with a special sweet treat to the first 100 moms who dine with us. (One per table.)"

In Cranford, readers chose The Rustic Mill Diner as the best place to take mom for Mother's Day brunch. "The Mill," located at 109 North Ave., has been in business since 1970 and serves a variety of dishes for breakfast and lunch, such as panini, foccacia, wraps, dessert, burgers, steaks, pasta and much more.

In Clark, Molly Maguire's just edged out the Windsor Diner as the place to lavish attention upon mom.

And last but certainly not least, Stage House Tavern's Sunday Brunch ran away with the contest in Scotch Plains.

Wherever you take you mom this Mother's Day, one thing is for certain: She will be more thrilled about who is taking her to brunch than where you're taking her.

Still, Patch is here to help!

This should definitely include the Italian Pantry Bistro in Cranford, the food is fantastic and we had a lovely brunch there: http://cranford.patch.com/listings/the-italian-pantry-bistro
And in Fanwood, its small but Flannery's Pub has amazing food, I'd bet they do a good brunch, which they appear to be starting back up on Mother's Day. http://www.flanneryslounge.com/
My fave in Westfield is still Xocolatz, if nothign else because they take reservations -- I've never been able to get into Turning Point for that reason, which has been frustrating.

This article is totally preposterous. You omitted the 5,000 pound gorilla of Union County Brunch: Snuffy's Steakhouse/Pantagis Renaissance in Scotch Plains http://www.pantagis.com/index.html You ought to be ashamed of yourself!
