Nemo coming thru

The first storm of the season started early today with freezing rain and slush  everywhere.

In areas of Union County people were out cleaning as fast as they could before the temperatures dipped creating sheets of ice.

Schools had early closings others closed and local colleges and other institutions such as Union County College did not open at all.

Here are before and after pixnear Martin Luther King Park in Linden.

Also, in a brief interview with Xavier Rodriguez, an attendant at a housing complex, he tells us why it's important to clean up the slush quickly.

Rodriguez spoke in Spanish and said cleaning the slush is important for safety reasons and because it makes the job much esier later on.

But he said don't think its easy ..the shovel gets heavy and as you do more its gets tiring- specially is you have to do a whole block.
