What you need to know today in Cranford

Help the animals: The Cranford Public Library is hosting an event to help the animals at 2 p.m. Teens can learn how to crochet a simple blanket that will be sent to an animal shelter. This is the last help the animals’ event of the year!

Mom and child workouts: Stroller Strides is hosting a free class in Unami Park at 4 p.m. The workout is for moms to do with their children. Visit www.westfield-warren.fit4mom.com for more details.

Road Work: Lane Closure on Springfield Avenue (southbound) from Kenilworth Blvd to Orange Ave from 7a.m. to 5p.m. This will be ongoing until Friday.

Writing Camp: There’s still time to register your 7th or 8th grader for Friday’s fall writing workshop. Email Chris Gilmartin at gilmartins@yahoo.com to register. The workshop is taught on Aug. 30 by award-winning English teacher, Mary Mangiacotti.
