The Westfield Area Y is pleased to announce that it will celebrate its 90th Anniversary on Sunday, September 15th at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield between 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The entire community is invited to join the Y in the celebration and attend the FREE festivities. Rain or shine, the fun will be inside the Y and outside on Ferris Place.
From humble beginnings in 1923, the Westfield Area Y continues to play a pivotal role in the history of our community. Today, the Westfield Area Y has approximately 11,000 members and provides a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of each generation.

There will be prizes and giveaways as well as free refreshments for all such as hot dogs, fruit, popcorn, water and ices (ices kindly donated by Uncle Louie G Italian Ices and Ice Cream of Westfield).

The Y is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. To help the community, the Westfield Food Pantry will be on-site collecting “healthy food” donations. The Pantry specifically requests: powdered milk (packaged as individual envelopes), fruit in cans (preferably in water), beans (dried or in cans), tuna, peanut butter, 100% fruit juice boxes and canned tomatoes/tomato sauce. No glass please. Flu shots will also be available and provided by CVS Pharmacy from Noon-3:00 pm for those interested. Co-pays vary. Please bring your insurance card.
The Westfield Area Y has been serving the communities of Cranford, Garwood, Mountainside and Westfield since 1923 and offers programs that build self-esteem and sharpen skills while developing strong character. Program areas include: Child Care Education; Youth and Teen Development; Family Strengthening; Day Camp; Sports; Aquatics; Adult and Senior Health & Wellness and World Service.
