WESTFIELD AREA Y HOSTS CONCERT SERIES FEATURING MAJESTIC WINDS TO BENEFIT STRONG KIDS CAMPAIGN

The Westfield Area Y is pleased to announce they are hosting a special concert series featuring Majestic Winds, the professional wind band of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts to benefit the Westfield Area Y’s Strong Kids Campaign. The first of the concert series is a Holiday Concert at the Bauer Branch of the Westfield Area Y, 422 East Broad Street on December 5th from 7:30 – 9:00 pm.

The ensemble will be directed by Howard Toplansky, an NJWA staff instrumental music instructor and conductor. Repertoire for these events will include Broadway selections, jazz solos, overtures, waltzes, marches and many contemporary compositions.

A donation of $12 is requested. Funds raised at these concerts will benefit the Westfield Area Y Strong Kids Campaign. Thanks to the Strong Kids Campaign, no one who lives or works in Westfield, Cranford, Garwood or Mountainside and is experiencing a bona fide financial hardship is turned away for the inability to pay, whether due to unemployment, poor health, financial issues or other circumstances. “The members of the Majestic Winds are looking forward to assisting in this worthy cause” states Howard Toplansky, Director of Majestic Winds.
