Centennial Avenue Closures Begin Next Week

The road will be resurfaced from North Avenue to Lincoln Avenue and Raritan Road to Wall Street.

Portions of Centennial Avenue from North Avenue to Lincoln Avenue and Raritan Road to Wall Street will be closed each day from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. for road resurfacing by the County of Union.

The project is expected to take approximately 10 days. Clearly marked detours and Union County forces will direct traffic around the roadwork, which will take place in sections throughout the 10-day period.

Due to the amount of men and machinery required to complete the work, the portions of road must remained closed during these times, Cranford Police said in a Nixle alert.

“Access to residences, including deliveries and other services, will be allowed as much as possible,” the alert stated. “Police officers will be on hand to assist during these times.”

Any traffic questions can be directed to the County’s traffic bureau at 908-789-1489. For more regular updates visit the Union County Bureau of Traffic Maintenance’s road construction website.
