Fall Means The Return Of The Scarecrows in Cranford

The annual Scarecrow Stroll will kick off next month.

It’s almost time for the popular Scarecrow Stroll and that means colorful, crazy
and very creative scarecrows on display all over downtown Cranford. This year’s event kicks off on Oct. 17 with the arrival of the scarecrows at Eastman Plaza.

According to Downtown Assistant Manager Joanne Westcott, participation
has grown every year to well over 125 scarecrows made by residents and business owners.

“Even the devastation caused last year by Hurricane Irene couldn’t stop the event. Residents, including many affected by the flood, asked us not to cancel saying their children needed the diversion,” she added.
