Press Release: Local Troop Will Be 'Scouting For Food" To Help Those in Need

Cranford Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Troop 75 will collect and distribute food for needy families in Cranford this month.

The Cranford Cub Scouts along with Boy Scout Troop 75 will be "Scouting for Food" for the benefit of Cranford Family Care Oct. 22 to Oct. 29. According to Dennis Brown, Scouting for Food Coordinator, the Cub Scouts will be distributing bags to homes on or about Oct. 22.

The Scouts request that residents donate nonperishable food items. The donated food should be placed in the bags and left on the doorstep by 9 a.m. on Oct. 29. The Cub Scouts will pick up the donations on Oct. 29 by noon and take them to . Those who miss the above date may bring their donated items directly to Cranford Family Care at 61 Myrtle St. during business hours Monday through Friday.

“This annual event allows everyone in the community an opportunity to show how much we care for our neighbors. The Scouts demonstrate their commitment to community service," Brown said. "The people of Cranford display their generosity. And the staff at Cranford Family Care prove their vital role in coordinating these efforts to create a Happy Thanksgiving for all.”
