Runner Collapses at Hangover 5K

Run was held today in Tamaques Park.

A runner collapsed at the 31st annual Hangover 5K held New Year's Day in Tamaques Park, according to race organizers.

An eyewitness told Patch cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed on the man before he was transported to the hospital.

A member of the Cranford-based Central Jersey Road Runners Club, which sponsors the New Year's Day run, said information on the man's condition has not been made available to the club at this time pending family notification.

The Westfield police department and volunteer rescue squad were unable to provide information at this time.
