'Walk 4 Will' Charity Walk to Raise Money For Local 4-Year-Old With Cancer

The communities of Cranford and Kenilworth are uniting together to support Will DeGregorio, a local four year old boy fighting cancer.  Walk 4 Will is a community-wide event to help raise money to assist with the huge financial burden of his rare adrenal cancer treatments. This fun-filled day will take place on Saturday, May 18th from 9:00am-12:00pm at David Brearley Athletic Field, 401 Monroe Avenue in Kenilworth.

Over 475 participants have registered for the fundraising event which will include music and activities for the children.   Each participant has committed to a certain number of laps for Will and they will receive a commemorative t-shirt.  “The support for the event has been outstanding,” commented Cranford Mayor Tom Hannen. “A collective goal of 1000 laps walked was set for the event and we’re thrilled to have exceeded that three times over for this special little boy Will and his family.”

“I am certain our caring community of Kenilworth will join in supporting the efforts to assist this young family. I am proud to be able to lend my support as well and look forward to working together with our friends in Cranford to make this event a success,” said Kenilworth Mayor Kathi Fiamingo.

"I am honored and excited to have Will's school Calvary Nursery School & Child Care host an event for him to help support his recovery in a town that I know well.  Kenilworth is a place where I grew up and have many family, friends, and fond memories," commented Will’s Mother, Kara Shields.

“I would like to take a moment to thank everyone involved in this amazing event. I am truly humbled by the amount of love and support William has received throughout his journey and we are honored to be part of such a wonderful community,” said his Father, Vincent DeGregorio.
