  • Dreyer Farms to Serve up Second Annual Dinner on Sunday 9/12

CRANFORD, NJ – An outdoor "dinner in the fields" will be held at Dreyer Farms, on Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. on Springfield Avenue. Chef Snyder's menu will highlight produce grown on the farm, serving up hors d'oeuvre, four courses, cocktails and wines.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative, an organization which aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with sarcoma. The all-inclusive meal will cost $160 overall. Seating is limited; to make reservations, call (908) 709-1200.

  • Breathe, Stretch, Relax: Trailside Offers Evening Yoga Series

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ – A popular gentle yoga series is returning to Trailside Nature  & Science Center on Tuesday evenings this fall as part of the center's adult programs, according to a Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders press release. The series begins on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and run for ten consecutive Tuesdays, through Nov. 16. Each session runs from 7:15 - 8:30 p.m.

The fee for Union County residents is $15 per class and $20 for out-of-county participants. Pre-registration is preferred as space is limited. Doors open 15 minutes prior to each yoga class and participants are asked to bring a yoga mat or pillow.

Taught by yoga instructor Claire M. Bay, certified by the Chopra Center in New York City, the classes teach Raja yoga techniques to soothing music. Participants will also learn how to use nature's healing powers to relieve stress and its symptoms.

  • Recreation and Parks Department to Mail New Fall Brochure

CRANFORD, NJ – The CRPD brochure will be mailed out with the "Downtown Cranford" magazine to residents. It will be located within the magazine and will include all information residents need regarding 2010 fall, winter and spring programming, according to a CRPD press release.

The brochure not only outlines programs run by the Parks and Recreation Department, but also lists important events and happenings in downtown Cranford.
