Under Keen Artistic Eye, Cranford Flourishes
The Second Annual "Paint the Town" event will run from June 7th to 12th.
Cranford is often described as a "picturesque" community. For the next week, local painters will capture that spirit on canvas.
Jersey Central Art Studios, located in Cranford, is hosting its Second Juried Plein Air event, “Paint the Town” from June 7th through the 12th. A Plein Air event is when artists paint landscapes out in the open air. Participants can be spotted all about town, painting classic Cranford landmarks such as the Rahway River and the downtown clock.
Last year's inaugural Plein Air event was viewed by many as a unique cultural experience, the likes of which had not graced Cranford before. This year, art fans will have the chance to meet the participating artists, witness as everyday scenes are captured on canvas, and add to their personal collection. The event will be more expansive, providing artists not only painting opportunities in the local community, but also two full days of painting in our greater region, making available such locations as Manhattan and the New Jersey shore.
