Who’s Teaching? Cranford Board of Ed’s New Appointments for 2013-14

Take a look at some of the new additions at Cranford Public Schools.

Although it is still summer, back-to-school is looming and Cranford Patch is taking a look at some of the new appointments by the Cranford Board of Education for next school year.

Are the kids excited about their teachers next year? Here’s a look at some new additions.

Bloomingdale Avenue School

Brookside Place School

Gretchen O’Shea
was hired as a part-time kindergarten teacher at Brookside Place. O’Shea holds an M.S. from Queens College, City University and a B.A. from Nazareth College. Her salary will be $28,805.50.

Gregory D’Amato
was hired as a leave replacement teacher of the fifth grade at Brookside Place School. D’Amato holds a B.S. from Seton Hall University. His salary will be $50,990.

Cranford High School

Peter Corea
will be a guidance counselor for the high school. Corea holds an M.A. from Montclair State University and a B.A. from the University of Kansas. His salary will be $57,611.

Lori Wood
was hired as a learning teacher disabled consultant at the high school. Wood holds an M.A. from Nova Southeastern University and a B.A. from Boston College. Her salary will be $67,293.

Michael Mangarelli was hired as a social studies teacher at the high school. Mangarelli holds a MED and B.A. from Rutgers University. His salary will be $57,611.

Hillside Avenue School

Megan DeMichele
was hired as a special education teacher at Hillside Avenue School. DeMichele holds an M.A. from Saint Peters College and a B.A. from William Paterson University. Her salary will be $57,611.00.

Matthew Fitcher was hired as science teacher at HAS. Fitcher holds a B.S. from the University of Pennyslvania. His salary will be $27,000 and moved to $50,550 upon receipt of his certification.

Orange Avenue School


Kevin Deacon has been named Assistant Principal for Orange Avenue School. Deacon earned an MS from Queens College and a B.A. from Siena College. His salary will be $99,000.00. Ashley Grainger will be a special education and language arts teacher at Orange Avenue School. Grainger holds a B.A. from Monmouth University. Her salary will be $50,990.

Noemi Tlantechi
will be a leave replacement Spanish teacher at OAS. Tlantechi holds a B.A. from King’s College. Her salary will be $50,550.


Walnut Avenue School

Jennifer Klausner will be a leave replacement Spanish teacher for both WAS and LAS. Klausner holds a M.A. from New York University and a B.A. from Rutgers. Her salary will be $57,611.00

Teri Hecht, Alexander Napi, Carolyn Kube, Kathleen Drwiege, Dominque Chiu, Melanie Kosinski, Ghani Sultana and Sharyn Merola will be classroom assistants and/or lunch assistant throughout the district.

Also in the district, Meghan Koddenberg was hired as a leave replacement for the pathways to excellence program. Koddenberg holds a MAT and B.S. from James Madison University. Her salary will be $57,611.

Sidona Anderson will be a board ceritified analyst for the district. Anderson holds a M.A. from Caldwell College and a B.A. from Ramapo Univeristy. Her salary will be $60,464.
