Cranford residents, families, organizations and business owners are submitting
colorful art for the outdoor tile project. The Downtown Office expects the first tiles to be mounted late September in the pedestrian walkway next to Simply art & framing on North Union Avenue.
“The 2012 tile art project is a continuation of a Cranford tradition of public art and community involvement. This is a great way for residents and former residents, businesses and organizations to be part of this permanent art display that tells the story of Cranford,” said Kathleen Miller Prunty, Downtown Director.
Submissions include hand drawn designs by adults and children as well as photographs of homes, pets, families, storefronts and logos. These will be made into a 6” x 6” tile that will be installed on various pedestrian walkways in downtown. There is no deadline for the project that will continue until all of the public walkways are completed.
Sample tiles are on display at , ,

"Civic organizations and clubs are such an important part of Cranford so this is a great way for them to add their organization name to this permanent public art project,” added Prunty.
