Hilltop Bicycles Opens Second Location in Cranford

March 30, 2013 Hilltop Bicycles opened its 2nd location in Cranford, NJ over the weekend to some wonderful Spring weather and excited families. Owners Sam Cooper and Thomas Dunn are looking forward to building upon the success of Hb’s original location in Summit, NJ, by bringing their unique combination of service, enthusiasm, community and accessibility to Cranford.

The town of Cranford, known for its locally owned businesses, cafes and restaurants, is an ideal fit for the family and community focused approach that has quickly made HB the standard bearer for bike shops in Northern NJ. “Cranford is going through some really exciting demographic and cultural changes currently. It is the perfect time for a move like this both for us and for the community,” states Dunn.

While Hb will continue to proudly represent Giant and Focus, the 2500 square foot space means they can also offer Cannondale. Plus they have more room to add another work station.  Tom Vigliante the previous owner of Cranford Bike Shop, has joined them as a mechanic. “We are very excited to hire Tom,” states Cooper. “He’s a really great guy and has a long and respected history amongst the local community.”

The new retail location in Cranford will allow Hb Summit to sharpen its focus towards a more performance oriented, boutique style space. In addition to Giant and Focus, they recently added handmade titanium builder Moots, out of Colorado, and Southern California based Ritte Bicycles, making it clear that Hb will work to bring the latest and the greatest to cyclists in North and Central New Jersey while continuing to offer a full range of lifestyle and children’s bikes for the family and beginner riders. 

The opening of Hb Cranford is another step towards the idea that everybody deserves a bike shop that they can be proud of and call their own. Hb is building a community of healthier, happier cyclists by placing a premium on quality and performance while making the once intimidating bike shop a comfortable place for everyone who walks through the door.
