Local Firm 'Lights It Up Blue' For Autism

What do the Cranford-based accounting and consulting firm MSPC and Autism Speaks have in common? The color blue! On Tuesday, in support of Autism Awareness Day, the firm donned blue firm sweatshirts and other blue attire.

Led by Cathy Davis and Lisa Meierhofer who also organized the firm to walk for Autism Speaks in the fall, this event was a subtle way to demonstrate the importance of raising awareness of a disorderthat impact so many families in the community.

Davis says, “Today was about showing community support. We see children with autism and often feel helpless. Today we were able to bring our firm together if only to tell others that we understand and we care.”

Managing partner Jim Flannery notes, “Our firm is like a family and it is a great feeling for all of the staff to feel a part of something that helps others. We all know someone who knows someone impacted by autism.”

Each April 2, Autism Speaks celebrates Light It Up Blue along with the international autism community, in commemoration of the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day.
