Light Snow and Sleet Forecast for Monday

The National Weather Service says about an inch of snow will accumulate Monday afternoon before turning to sleet in the evening.

The commute home Monday evening could be a messy one.

The National Weather Service is forecasting that Cranford could get a mix of snow and sleet starting before 4p.m. The accumulation is expected to be less than a half-inch. It's expected to turn over to rain before midnight.

The chance of snow is 80 percent, according to the weather service.

The good news is that temperatures are climbing back from the arctic blast that set in during the past week. Temperatures will break the freezing point on Monday, with a high of 34 predicted.

The wet weather will likely continue through the week, as the weather service is forecasting a chance of rain through Thursday. A high of 57 is expected on Wednesday.
