President Obama Coming To New Jersey Wednesday

Will observe Hurricane Sandy damage with Governor Christie

Additional scheduling details will be released when they are available.

Notice how anti-federal government Republican clowns happily extend their hands for federal aid when they need it. Christie's hypocrisy is especially transparent after this hurricane. Hey Chris, why don't you do the usual Republican thing and tell all the flood victims to get their hands dirty, quit whining, and pull themselves up by their bootstraps, without having to rely on government assistance? What's that? (deafening silence among the hypocrites...)

well said, Julie!

"I am not advocating that"
Haywood, you must see the irony in what you write. You must. For what it's worth, I will continue to show you the courtesy of addressing your points with reasoned responses for as long as I can manage, but I seriously wonder why you think that people should take what you say seriously when you have chosen a name, this time around, that is obviously inappropriate for usage on the Patch. I am surprised they are letting you post here. Maybe you stop posting under this name and come back under some sort of pseudonym that establishes your persona as being patriotic or a unique fan of the constitution or something. Just saying.

I guess you don't need the FEMA workers or the electric crews from all over the country either since they are there at his direction. You are so talented you can clean up the whole mess and replace all the roads and buildings all by yourself without the help of outside people. Instead of complaining you should be thankful you have a president that put competent people in place that knew what to do in the case of a disaster. And it would not matter who that president was.
J. Colangelo October 31, 2012 at 06:26 pm
He is bringing resources and sent much of that manpower there. You should be thanking him instead of finding fault.
J. Colangelo October 31, 2012 at 06:30 pm
Sorry Greg, you won't hear accolades. Their hatred is too deep and has been intensified by the pundits they listen to and watch on a daily basis. That hatred is tearing this whole country apart. If the president were to hand everyone a thousand dollars they would complain that the bills were dirty.

I'm glad Barack Obama is in office during this time of disaster. As opposed to his opponent he knows it is his job to think about those who need assistance. President Obama knows we're all in this together. No matter what percentage you are, no matter what party you're in, we stand stronger together.
It's so telling when you see Romney rallies displaying signs that say "change". He doesn't even attempt to offer us any hope.
J. Colangelo October 31, 2012 at 06:36 pm
Oh, he is holding up you getting into your home by bringing money, resources, equipment, electric crews that have a mutual aid agreement through FEMA, and other things that are needed. Do you think he should just wiggle his nose and the whole mess disappear so you are no longer inconvenienced by Mother Nature?

Haywood, maybe if Congress would make the people of this country their number one priority instead of making Obama look bad the unemployment rate would be much lower. So far they have blocked 2 jobs bills and a number of veteran's bills that would have created millions of jobs. Blame the people that are truly responsible instead of the president.
Mister Mike October 31, 2012 at 06:53 pm
LOL Joe! Although I do think Christie is doing the right thing with this. After all available federal aide is just like a federal income tax deduction, tax credit, etc. 99.9% of the people that disagree with some deductions or credits and feel they shouldn't be part of the tax code are still going to take them because they're there and they can!

What a difference to have a President who is proactive, on top of the situation, and effectively coordinates and manages the situation before it becomes a crisis. One can only imagine what would have happened under the previous administration. Oh, I forgot. We don't have to imagine. It actually happened... it was called Katrina!
Whambs October 31, 2012 at 07:12 pm
Shouldn't you'll save your batteries on your phones and laptops, since you'll don't have power... I'm just saying.

This is not true, but I'm sure that doesn't faze you a bit.
tony g2010 October 31, 2012 at 08:13 pm
Coming to pick up a check from Jay Z and Kanye. "Obama doesn't care about white people". Hear how nice that sounds, just like after Katrina.
tony g2010 October 31, 2012 at 08:27 pm
The democrats in LA stole $500 million dollars that was to be used to shore up the city for years before the storm and did not evacuate people on the hundreds of buses they had and you are blaming Bush? Typical liberal, take, take ,take, take, take, take, nothing left, blame, blame, blame, blame, blame. I hope Obama gets booted next week, just to shut up all you whiners.

It's good to see that the Patch commentary lives up to expectations -- idiotic, thoughtless, and uninformed. New Jersey is a disaster area and POTUS is doing what he was elected to do -- lead the federal government in providing assistance to its citizens in need. Enough said. Any other President -- democrat or republican -- would have done the exact same thing. If you want to talk politics, let's talk about how Romney, a week ago, wanted to disband FEMA, and earlier today changed his mind, again.

Well, folks...the storm has passed. Now the real work begins. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, as you deal as you must with the aftermath.
I have no intention of politicizing the storm. I pray only for the safety of you and your loved ones... Let the first responders do their jobs, and the utility workers, theirs. If asked, assist - otherwise, it is best if we wait patiently. Where possible, look in on your neighbors. Make sure they are okay. Watch each others' backs, folks. We can weather this in exemplary fashion, or succumb to our own baser nature. For the next week, pay close attention to the good you see done by your fellow man. The media will only be reporting the defeats, never the victories. Patience is a virtue, and a difficult one to abide with. We will all need much patience over the next few days, as lines form for fuel, and as we wait our turn for restoration of our utilities. We're fortunate that the temperature is relatively mild - things could have been much worse. Be sure and thank those in your community who help out when you see them over the next coming weeks. They've earned your thanks, but they only rarely receive them. That's another change that is long overdue. Personally, our family escaped with no injuries, and property damage can be repaired. Today, each of us knows what is really important. Let's show the world what Jersey can do.

To "concerned idiot parent". Pay attention to what has gone on you fool. Obama has given so much ammo long before this disaster.

Guess who doesn't care about YOU!!!!! Obama is the man,get your head out of your ass.
Technokat November 4, 2012 at 03:00 pm
Just by saying that you're right doesn't mean you're correct. Offer facts and proof, not rhetoric. The only thing "right" about your comments is in the direction they are leaning--and it ain't left.
Technokat November 4, 2012 at 03:11 pm
Affluence and "education" does not equal intelligence and compassion. Just look at all the millionaire CEOs with MBAs and law degrees who contribute to Romney's anti-FEMA political campaign.
Technokat November 4, 2012 at 03:13 pm
If your false rhetoric about Libya is all you have, no wonder people are pushing back. You have offered nothing of substance to prove he is a "failure." Stop watching Fox and CNN.
