The Cranford Parks and Recreation Department,
in conjunction with AARP Tax Aide will be taking appointments for free 2013 income tax preparation at The Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue, Cranford, New Jersey. The preparation sessions are held in Room 204 on Monday and Friday afternoons from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, and the service will start on Monday, February 8, 2013. Hourly appointments are made at 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, and 3:00pm. The last day for tax preparation will be Friday, April 12, 2013.
There will be no preparation sessions on Monday, February 18, 2013 (President’s Day) and on Friday, March 29, 2013 (Good Friday).
This service is for residents of Cranford and Garwood only, and is geared to senior citizens and area residents with low to moderate income.
Filing assistance is provided for federal and NJ state income tax returns, and the Property Tax Reimbursement Program (PTR 1&2). Federal and state returns are filed electronically.
Participants should bring the following information:
copies of federal & state returns (2012), wages, interest, dividends, capital gains, social security, etc. (Forms 1099, 1099R, 1099B – W2 & SSA). Property tax assessment for 2012 & Feb. 2012 tax bill. A form of identification and if requesting direct deposit please bring routing number.
