Growing in the Garden: September Programs- "Finding Fall Flowers" & "Rabbits Running Wild"

Macculloch Hall Historical Museum presents its
hands-on program for preschool-age children “Growing in the Garden” this September.
This program meets twice a month, to visit the garden at Macculloch Hall and
explore environmental topics through a story, walk in the garden and art
projects.

Finding Fall Flowers

On Tuesday, September 3 from 1:15 to 2 p.m. Macculloch Hall
Historical Museum invites 3 - 5 year olds and their caregivers to learn about
fall flowers in the garden.  Children
will hear a story, Eliza Wheeler’s Miss
Maple’s Seeds
, to hear one explanation of how seeds survive after autumn
and through winter.  In the garden,
children will search out seeds, find fall flowers and make a fall-inspired
craft to take home.

Rabbits Running Wild

Are there rabbits running wild in the garden at Macculloch
Hall Historical Museum?  On Tuesday,
September 17 from 1:15 to 2 p.m. children 3 - 5 years old and their caregivers
can search for the signs of rabbits in the garden.  While in the garden, children learn how rabbits
communicate with each other and what rabbits will eat during the winter when
the fall feast of grass and garden crops is over.  In addition to visiting the garden, children
will hear a story about rabbits and make a rabbit mask to take home.  Growing in the Garden is a year-round program
meeting twice a month at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum.  The program lasts 45 minutes.  Pre-registration is required.  The cost for the program is $8 per pair
