Jews and Humor – A Free
Lecture at Temple Sholom

Temple
Sholom, a reform Jewish congregation in Fanwood, is hosting a lecture from
noted author and public speaker Rabbi Jeff Salkin entitled Jews and Humor on Sunday, October 20th at 7pm, at Temple
Sholom, 74 S. Martine Avenue, Fanwood (Marian Street entrance in the back of
Fanwood Presbyterian church).

Why are so many comedians Jewish? Is
there something inherently Jewish about comedy? Are some things simply not
funny? Join Rabbi Jeff Salkin, student of Jewish comedy and author of numerous
books including The Gods are Broken,
and Putting God on the Guest List, on
a "serious" journey through Jewish comedy.

The event is free thanks to funding from the Rabbi Nathanson fund at
Temple Sholom.  It is open to the public
and recommended for adults.  This program
kicks off an exciting series of evening events to include lectures, films and
discussions, brought to you by Temple Sholom’s Adult Education Committee for
2013-2014.
