Community Corner

Playground Equipment Sale

What does it take to grow a community garden? The list is extensive, but what you need first is a clear piece of land.

TBEMC (Temple Beth El Mekor Chayim) of Cranford is in the planning and design stage for a community garden to be located adjacent to the main building. But before construction begins, the land needs to be cleared…of playground equipment.

The “first come-first serve” sale will continue until September 3rd before the items are placed for sale on online sale and auction websites. Currently, there are 11 PLAYGROUND pieces for sale ranging from $5 (basketball hoop) to $100 (large climber that retails for over $500). Proceeds will go toward initial construction phases of the garden, slated for late September.

The TBEMC Garden Committee has chosen a blog format to photo-journal the development of the garden from start to finish. A list of the items for sale with pictures and prices is available via the blog at http://tbemccommunitygarden.blogspot.com/2013/07/clearing-yard-playground-equipment-sale.html
