Pamela Christy from JFK Medical Center was the recipient of this year’s award.

Cranford resident Pamela Christy, Director at Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, was awarded this year’s March of Dimes Award in the Hospice, Home Health and Palliative Care category.

Christy, RN, BSN, CHPN, has held many positions over the years including Nurse Manager, Maternal Child Instructor, Hospice Coordinator and Hospice Intake RN.  She also holds place on the Board of Hospice and Palliative Care for New Jersey (NJHPCO), as well as holds the position of Board Chair of the Nurse Manager Council at JFK Medical Center.

“We could not do the work of the March of Dimes without the passion and commitment of our nurses.  This is our opportunity to show them how special they truly are,” said Addy Bonet, State Director of the New Jersey Chapter of the March of Dimes.

More than 5,000 nurses were nominated throughout the nation and about 240 were from this area. The Nurse of the Year Awards are given in about 17 different categories and sponsored by Investors Bank.
