Cranford’s 10th Autism Speaks Walk Raises More Than $205K

The annual walk will be held on Sunday at Nomahegan Park.

On Sunday, Cranford will host its 10th Annual Autism Speaks walk to raise awareness of Autism and bring children and young adults on the Autism spectrum together.

The walk, which has already raised over $205,000, is expected to draw more than 4,000 people to Nomahegan Park.

Kori Buro , Director of Field Development for Autism Speaks (North New Jersey Chapter),s aid she is most looking forward to meeting the teams who have worked so hard over the past few months to fundraise for the event.

“It gives the opportunities for families to come together to share their stories,” Buro said. “It is an event that everyone can enjoy.”

A new team has joined the walk this year, Chugging for Hope, Buro said, but many teams have returned from previous walks, including: Grateful for Griffin, Jacks Pack, Dominic’s Ducks, Icky Ouse Club House, Team Jilly Bean, Adrianna Angels and Arianas Angels.

The event will feature motivational speaker, Kerry Magro, singer Jodi DiPiazza (who sang with Katy Perry) and musical therapist, Jammin’ Jen.
