Winners of Annual 'Scarecrow Stroll' Announced
The winners of the adult and children categories were announced by The Office of Business and Economic Development on Monday.
Over 70 intricate and creative scarecrows lined the streets of Downtown Cranford since Oct. 17, but voters had to choose just two first place winners of the 6th annual Scarecrow Stroll.
The winners of this year’s stroll were:
Adults
1st Place – Lincoln Rises
2nd Place – Medusa
3rd Place – Scarecrow of the Sea
Children(12 and under)
1st Place – Lego Witch
2nd Place – Humpty Dumpty
3rd Place - Minion
Cranford’s Office of Business and Economic Development sponsors the annual stroll that individuals and businesses in town are encouraged to attend at no cost.
The office will announce on Tuesday what businesses’ scarecrows received the most votes.
The group, Union Area Parents, picked the Scarecrow Stroll as one of their #13HalloweenHappenings this year. Even the blog, ‘You Don’t Know Jersey,’ featured the annual Cranford event.
“Our favorite this year was the headless horseman inspired scarecrow by Schuster Family Orthodontics,” Ed Magdziak of the blog said in his post. “The smiling pumpkin with the set of braces really gave us a chuckle.”
