St. Michael’s Annual Christmas Program Features Atlas Brass Quintet

'Advent and Christmas Lessons and Carols' will take place on Dec. 15.

On Dec. 15, St. Michael’s Church will host their annual “Advent and Christmas Lessons and Carols” featuring the Atlas Brass Quintet at 4 p.m. at St. Michael’s in Cranford.

“We are fortunate to have this professional brass quintet, especially at this season when they are in great demand,” Dr. David Bower, St. Michael Cranford Director of Music and Organist said.

In addition to the quintet, the Choirs of St. Michael, including the Parish Vocal; Youth; Schola Cantorum; Soloists; and Handbell Choir will also perform.  The handbell choir of children and adults is the largest bell choir in the Newark Archdiocese.

The choral program will include the following carols: “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “A Maiden Most Gentle,” “I Saw Threee Ships,” and “The Cradle Song.” Both “The First Noel” and “ Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” will be performed with the brass quintet.

The church is located at 409 Alden St., Cranford, and can be reached at 908-276-0360.  A free will offering will be taken to support the music program at St. Michael’s.
