Cranford School Aide, Claire Appezzato Goetz, Dies at 86

Goetz was a lab technician before becoming a teacher's aide and lunch aide in the Cranford school system.

Claire (Appezzato) Goetz, 86, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at R.W. Johnson Hospital in Rahway. She was a lifelong resident of Cranford.

Friends are invited to visit 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday at the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Ave. West in Cranford. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM Friday at St. Michael’s Church, Cranford. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.

Mrs. Goetz had been a lab technician for Smith, Kline, Beecham and a teacher’s aide and a lunch aide in the Cranford School system. 

She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Goetz in 2003, by her son, George R. Goetz in 1997, and by her brother, Felix Appezzato in 1992.

Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Wright and her husband Jeffrey; her grandson, Jonathan Wright; her sisters, Edith Appezzato and Josephine Foley; and many nieces and nephews.
