WWII Veteran Joseph Kochera of Cranford Dies

Kochera lived in Cranford for more than 50 years.


The following information was provided by Dooley Funeral Home.


Joseph W. Kochera entered eternal life on Dec.13, 2013. Visitation will
be Dec.19 from 7-9 pm Thursday, at Dooley Funeral Home 218 North Ave. 
West, Cranford, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated 9:30 am, Firday 
Dec.20 from St. Michael's Church Cranford, NJ.

Joseph, the son of Agnes and Michael Kochera was born in Bayonne, NJ. He lived in Cranford for over 50 years. He was proud of his service in World War II, with over 60 Channel crossings in convoy and the D-Day invasion.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years Helen (Dunleavy) Kochera, 
two children Brian Michael Kochera of Cranford NJ, Karen Kochera Malone 
of Woodbury, MN. In addition he is survived by one grandchild Kathleen 
Thomas ( Jeffrey Thomas) and two great grandchildren Alicia Michelle and 
Colin Michael Thomas all of Chaska, MN. He is also survived by sisters 
Agnes Swanicke and Frances Boden.
