Backing Down McClellan, Abrupt Lane Changes Lead to Drug, DWI Arrests
Cranford police activity from April 2-11.
Cranford police made numerous drug and alcohol arrests last week. Here are the details:
Friday, April 2:
Officer Kelly Reiter observed a vehicle backing down McClellan Street at 4:44 a.m. Through further investigation the driver 38-year-old Cranford driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, careless driving and operating an uninsured vehicle.
Saturday, April 3:
Officer Eugene Perrotta stopped a vehicle on Centennial Avenue for having tinted windows at 2:09 a.m. Through further investigation the 34-year-old driver from Jersey City was arrested for possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, CDS in a motor vehicle, and driving while intoxicated.

Monday, April 5:
Officer Spencer Durkin observed a vehicle on Raritan Road and Centennial Avenue operating without brake lights at 2:50 p.m. Through further investigation the 44-year-old passenger from Warren was arrested for possession of heroin and paraphernalia.
Thursday, April 8:
Officer John Rattigan stopped a vehicle with tinted windows on North Avenue near Carpenter Place at 11:21 p.m. Through further investigation the 18-year-old driver from Hillside and a juvenile passenger from Roselle were arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Friday, April 9:
Officer Brian Thomas observed a vehicle make an abrupt lane change on Centennial Avenue near the Garden State Parkway overpass at 10:06 a.m. Through further investigation the 27-year-old passenger from Newark was arrested for possession of CDS marijuana and paraphernalia.
Saturday, April 10:
Officer Robert Jordan stopped a vehicle with tinted windows on Raritan Road at 3:57 p.m. Through further investigation the 25-year-old driver from Newark was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia.
Sunday, April 11:
Perrotta responded to a motor vehicle accident at South and Hollywood avenues at 2:49 a.m. Through further investigation the 23-year-old driver from Plainfield was arrested for driving while intoxicated and charged with careless driving.
Officer Thomas Stiansen stopped a vehicle for a view obstruction from the rear view mirror at 9:45 p.m. Through further investigation the 34-year-old driver from Elizabeth was arrested for possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic needle and suspected oxycodone. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for obstructed view, driving while suspended and CDS in a motor vehicle.
