Bicycle Theft Foiled, Suspects Apprehended

Friday, May 7

Officer Spencer Durkin stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Raritan Rd. and Centennial Ave. for failure to display its license plate and became suspicious when he smelled marijuana. He searched the vehicle and arrested the car's passenger, Orlando Cruz, 31, of Newark, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of paraphernalia, specifically bags. The driver, a 28-year-old Newark woman, received a summons for failure to display a license plate and was released from the scene.
