Citizens Arrest Cops During High Risk Motor Vehicle Mocks

Citizens' Police Academy students donned full-face helmets, padded throat protectors, and armed themselves with modified guns to arrest police officers in the municipal building's back parking lot Wednesday night.

The high risk vehicle stop simulations gave them a first-hand look at the stress, adrenaline and difficulty involved in making split second, life or death decisions. Citizens and officers used firearms loaded with live soap bullets to make the mock vehicle stops seem more real.

A high risk motor vehicle stop consists of any traffic stop connected to a burglary, holdup, armed robbery, or drug-related crime.
