Cranford Police Make Drug Arrests

Cranford police activity from November 10-17.

Cranford police made four arrests in the last week. Details:

Tuesday, November 11:
During a check of suspicious persons possibly involved in illegal dumping at the September 11, 2001 Memorial on Springfield and N. Union avenues at 10:42 a.m., Ptl. Timothy O'Brien arrested a 26-year-old male from Somerset after he was found to have a small bag of suspected marijuana on his person. He was charged with possession of CDS marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of CDS paraphernalia.


Monday, November 16:
Ptl. Eugene Perrotta stopped a 24-year-old male from Roselle for driving without a seatbelt and obstructing traffic at South and Centennial avenues at 1:48 a.m. Perrotta detected an odor of marijuana and recovered a bag of suspected marijuana from inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia.

Ptl. Brian Thomas stopped a 28-year-old male suspect from Roselle for improper display of license plates at Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road at 11:53 a.m.  The officer found the suspect to be a suspended driver. The odor of marijuana led to the discovery of a ziplock bag of suspected marijuana in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for possession of CDS marijuana (under 50 grams), possession of CDS paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and unclear license plates.

Ptl. Donald Zsak arrested a 26-year-old woman from Piscataway following a motor vehicle crash investigation in which the suspect struck a gas pump at North Avenue and Carpenter Plaza at 7:58 p.m. The suspect was arrested for possession of CDS (narcotic pills), possession of CDS paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, and for driving with a suspended license.
