Cranford Teen Arrested On Outstanding Warrants

The following information was obtained from the Cranford Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A local teen was arrested after he was recognized by police officers responding to a disturbance call.

On June 8 at 1:07 a.m., responded to the 10-block of Johnson Avenue to investigate reports of a loud group in the area.

When police arrived at the scene, Patrolman Steven D'Ambola recognized a suspect identified as Tyrone Tiru, 19, of Cranford, as a wanted fugitive out of Cranford. Tiru was wanted for eluding police and $20,000 bail had been set. In addition, Tiru also had traffic warrants out of Cranford and Seaside Heights totaling $1,100.00. Tiru was arrested and processed in Cranford and transported to Union County Jail in Elizabeth to await Superior Court Proceedings.
