The Cranford driver was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving.

A 19-year-old Cranford resident lost control of his car Wednesday morning and drove up on two front lawns on Munsee Drive, striking a parked vehicle and tearing down shrubs and a tree.

At around 1:42 a.m. the driver, a resident of Yarmouth Road, was traveling north on Munsee Drive, according to the Cranford Police Department. As he negotiated a turn about 100 feet south of Yarmouth Road, he caused his vehicle to jump the curb near 35 Munsee Drive. He struck a tree, an unoccupied vehicle parked in the driveway, tore out some shrubs, and finally came to a rest on the neighboring front lawn.

The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving. There were no serious injuries.
