Juvenile Flees Breen's With 24-Pack, Turns Self In

Cranford police charged two individuals under 19 years of age with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop and a shoplifting incident. Details:

Wednesday, March 24:  
While conducting a motor vehicle checkpoint on Kenilworth Boulevard and County Park Drive, Officer Patrick Fay stopped a vehicle carrying a driver and passenger who were not wearing seatbelts at 1:31 p.m. Through further investigation 19-year-old passenger from Plainfield was arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He was also issued a summons for not wearing his seatbelt.

Friday, March 26:
Cranford police responded to Breen's Liquor store on the report of a shoplifting at 8:46 p.m. As police arrived, the suspect fled the scene on foot with a 24 pack of Budweiser cans, leaving his companions behind. After several minutes, the 16-year-old Cranford juvenile returned to the scene to turn himself in. Through further investigation the juvenile was also charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
