Man Arrested In Local Hotel Parking Lot For Drug Distribution

The following information was obtained from the Cranford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

arrested an Elizabeth man on Aug. 14 on drug possession and distribution charges in the parking lot of a local hotel.

At 12:36 p.m., Patrolman Spencer Durkin stopped a suspicious person that was hanging around in the parking lot of the Homewood Suites on Jackson Drive, according to reports.

During the course of an investigation at the scene, a suspect identified as Kalim Brown, 34, of Elizabeth was found to be in possession of 100 folds of suspected heroin and 22 vials of suspected cocaine. Brown was arrested and charged with distribution of controlled dangerous substances, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was released with a Union County Superior Court date.
