Multiple Accidents With Injuries Lead To Rush Hour Delays

The New Jersey State Police are reporting several accidents along the Garden State Parkway.

Multi-vehicle crashes in both the northbound and southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway are making rush hour traffic worse than usual.

According to the Bloomfield Barracks of the NJ State Police Troop E, multiple accidents have occured along the parkway. It is believed that many of the crashes are weather related, following heavy downpours that began just before 4 p.m. throughout Union, Essex and Middlesex counties.

At least two of these incidents were causing delays at exit 136 near Clark and Cranford. All southbound lanes of the parkway remain open through Cranford and Clark, as the crash was moved to the shoulder. Police say no fatalities were reported, but medical crews were called to the scene, along with local and state police.
