Officer Makes Arrest for Heroin Possession

Detained yesterday at the corner of Centennial Avenue and Wall Street.

 A 24-year-old female from North Brunswick was arrested yesterday at 8:10 p.m. for the possession of heroin, a hypodermic needle and other drug paraphernalia, according to Cranford police blotters.

The  North Brunswick resident was also charged for hindering her own apprehension by giving police a false name. In addition, the officer issued her a summons for not wearing her seatbelt.

She was a passenger in a vehicle Officer Brian Lopez stopped on the corner of Centennial Avenue and Wall Street after noticing that seatbelts were not being worn by occupants. Upon further investigation of the 24-year-old female passenger, Lopez discover there were warrants out for her arrest from South Brunswick and Highland Park.
