Passengers Plucked From Cars for Alleged Marijuana Possession

Cranford Police activity Sept. 6-11.

Cranford Police this week reported pulling over two drivers in two separate incidents for minor violations; but after further investigation, officers arrested passengers in both vehicles for alleged marijuana possession, according to Lt. Robert Colaneri of the Cranford Police Department.

Saturday, Sept. 11

Miklyle Antiporda, 18, of Hillside was arrested for allegedly possessing under 50 grams of marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia. He was a passenger in a vehicle initially pulled over on Centennial Avenue near Raritan Road by Officer Spencer Durkin at 11:30 p.m., who noted that the vehicle exhibited an expired inspection sticker.

The officer also issued a summons to driver Juan Henao, 21, of Hillside for failing to inspect his vehicle.

Police arrested Robert Woods, 26, of Bloomingburg, N.Y., for allegedly possessing under 50 grams of marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia. He was a passenger in a red pickup truck pulled over by Officer Eugene Perrotta around midnight, on North Avenue by John Street. Another passenger, Richard Devos, 33, of Westhampton, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from his hometown.

Driver Joshua Doolittle, 21, a resident of Middletown, N.Y., also failed to produce his driver's license and received a summons. He also received a summons for not exhibiting tail lights on the vehicle.

Monday, Sept. 6

Officer Sean Holocomb arrested Jean Cadeau, 65, of Orange, charged with driving while intoxicated. Holocomb pulled over Cadeau's 1998 Plymouth Voyager on South Avenue around 3:34 p.m. after a passing motorist reported the vehicle.
