PD Investigating 'Suspicious Incident' Involving Teen on Raritan Road

Police have not deemed the incident "child luring," but are investigating.

Clark Police sent out a Nixle alert around 9 a.m. on Thursday alerting residents to a suspicious incident where a female Clark district student was approached by a man while waiting for her bus on Wednesday morning.

The student was waiting for her bus near the Clark-Cranford border on Raritan Road around 7:40 a.m., said Clark Police Chief Alan Scherb,  and was approached by a hispanic male in a white four-door vehicle. The students parents reported the incident to police Wednesday night.

"The vehicle pulled up, a comment was made to the juvenile, and then the juvenile backed away," Scherb told Patch. "We are investigating this as a suspicious incident."

Scherb said police are not certain there was an intent to lure. Scherb asks anyone who sees anything suspicious to not hesitate and report any incidents to Clark PD immediately.
